COME ONE, COME ALL!
Not a member? Not to worry! The Metal Boat Festival is open to everyone, Metal Boat Society members and non-members alike. Come learn, enjoy, and find out what the Metal Boat lovers are all about.
LOCATION OF FESTIVAL & MOORAGE:
This year’s Festival will be held at Port Angeles, Washington, USA at the Landing Mall (
www.thelandingmall.com) meeting rooms right next to the Victoria/Port Angeles ferry docks. We will be located on the waterfront with a fantastic view of the Straits of Juan de Fuca & looking across to Victoria, B.C. (or look the other direction at the beautiful Olympic Mountains).
Moorage will begin at the City Docks which again will be reserved for only the Festival’s metal boats. Moorage will be included in your registration fees – arriving anytime starting Thursday afternoon & leaving Sunday before evening. There is a limited amount of moorage at the City Docks which we will fill up first. If we have any overflow then we will be using the Port of Port Angeles Marina www.portofpa.com across town (not to worry - if your boat is across town, shuttling will be provided, although “by sea or by land” is yet to be determined. Please contact Tom Purdy, MBF dock master at (360) 410-7031 or tpurdy@mail.com ) as soon as you have registered for the Festival to get your moorage lined up.
With this beautiful convenient Festival location just steps away from the ferries arriving & departing from Victoria, B.C. we are hoping to have even more of our Canadian friends attending this year. Yes, some of our speakers will also be Canadians. The convenience of ferry rides from both B.C. & across Puget Sound, the boats arriving to free moorage, flying in to either SeaTac airport of the B.C. airports, and lots of us driving in across this beautiful area. What fun Port Angeles (
www.portangeles.org) was last year, so we are looking forward to a much larger attendance at this 2010 Festival because of it.

Lunches
– with all of the nice places to eat within walking distance at Port Angeles, both fast food and sit down restaurants, we will be breaking for our lunches each day.
Prizes
- a free t-shirts per paid registrant, prizes throughout the Festival, and raffles – lots of fun throughout the three day weekend.
Elections/business meeting
- This is a MBS election year so our annual Metal Boat Society Business meeting will include elections of new officers. Everyone is invited to this business meeting, not just members. After spending a couple of days together, we are hoping that more of you will want to become involved with the Metal Boat Society.
(Please contact the office if you have any names to submit, or are interested in filling/running for any of the following positions: President, Vice President, Sec/Treas. or the 5 Advisory Board positions.)
Booths/displays
- During the three days of the weekend there will be plenty of booth space for our Commercial members, speakers, and the companies involved with the Festival – a place where you can have more one-on-one time to learn more about their products. This year we will have much more space for booths/tables and even free outdoor parking for trailerable boats. How fun it would be to have not only many attendees sailing in but now with this extra space we will be able to have you attendees with trailerable boats arriving - pulling a boat. Let’s see if we can fill that parking area! This area will also have room for any of our Commercial members/speakers to place larger displays.
Swap Meet - There will be a swap meet 4-6 pm Saturday in the same area as the Boots/Displays. An opportunity to load up or pass on good boat stuff.
