Not a member? Not to worry! The Metal Boat Festival is open to everyone, Metal Boat Society members and non-members alike. In the past couple yers there have in fact been two festivals, one "mini" in the spring and the "big one" in the fall. Come learn, enjoy, and find out what Metal Boat lovers are all about.

MBS FESTIVAL

The 2011 Festival was held at Anacortes, Washington, USA at the Cap Sante Boat Haven (Port of Anacortes Marina) with meeting rooms right next to the marina. See the panorama just above. Anacortes is on Fidalgo Island (bridge accessible) and is the gateway to the San Juan Island, with beautiful views of the cascade and Olympic Mountains.

The Festival Plan in Brief

We will be covering a variety of topics at information-packed sessions located in the meeting facilities at the marina. For the convenience of attendees, a in-depth schedule is prepared for the event. You are invited to visit last years schedule for an example of a complete work. As Festival plans for the current year come together, the Schedule for this year is brought up-to-date.

Friday & Saturday Start at 8:00 a.m. and run throughout each day. Learning sessions, fun freebie prizes, wonderful meals together, and lots of rubbing elbows with Interesting Boating People both from local areas & around the world. Many of them will be members who we have not seen since the Festival last year.

Saturday & Sunday Special It's a tradition. As always we will have our Q & A panel and workshops for women by women.

Sunday Start at 9:00 a.m. and end mid-afternoon. We will be having our annual Builders/Designers Forum. Also this is the day we hold the MBS Annual General Business Meeting.

Lunches

with all of the nice places to eat within walking distance at Anacortes, both fast food and sit down restaurants, we will be breaking for our lunches each day.

Prizes

- a free t-shirts per paid registrant, and raffles -- lots of fun throughout the three day weekend.

Booths/displays

During the three days of the weekend there will be plenty of booth space for our Commercial members, speakers, and the companies involved with the Festival -- a place where you can have more on- on-one time to learn more about their products. This year we will have much more space for booths/tables and even free outdoor parking for trailerable boats. How fun it would be to have not only many attendees sailing in but now with this extra space we will be able to have you attendees with trailerable boats arriving - pulling a boat. Let us see if we can fill that parking area! This area will also have room for any of our Commercial members/speakers to place larger displays.

Swap Meet

There will be a swap meet 4-6 pm Saturday in the same area as the Boats/Displays. An opportunity to load up or pass on good boat stuff.

MBS Annual General Business Meeting

Everyone is invited to this business meeting, not just members. After spending a couple of days together, we hope that more of you will want to become actively engaged with the Metal Boat Societys operation. The Metal Boat Society Board, which includes the presidency and 5 board members, have worked hard as a group to come up with a number of items to present to the members as a whole.

ACCOMODATIONS:

Moorage will begin at the Marina Docks which again will be reserved for the Festivals metal boats. Moorage will be included in your registration fees -- arriving anytime starting Thursday afternoon & leaving Sunday before evening. Please contact Tom Purdy, MBF dock master at (360) 410-7031 or via email as soon as you have registered for the Festival to get your moorage lined up.

For arrival by air, this scenic convenient Festival location is centrally located to either SeaTac airport or the B.C. airports, - and lots of us will be driving in across this beautiful area.
