JOIN OR RENEW!

The process to join or renew requires passing some information back and forth with Metal Boat Society. The Society needs to know a few things about each member, and you as a mamber need to have confirmation that your information is correct. Your personal info is not sold, traded, or otherwise divuldged, to other organizations. That's all legal stuff like the bylaws you may have when you are a member.

Two ways are now available to take care of the details, a third way is being developed. SO -- Pick a method from below that you like and let's see you in our membership list.

Online at the Ship's Store:

One way to join or to renew an existing membership is to visit the online Ship's Store. There you can enter all the membership data and post payment all on this website. A secure encrypted communication is used for this work in order to protect the information. We do recommend using your own computer at a select access point for this submission to avoid that guy looking over your shoulder.

Here is the brief step-by-step you will be following:

  1. Click on the Store to start the on-line procedure
  2. Register at the store if you have not already done so. This process is better described at the Store Information page.
  3. Click on the MEMBERSHIP SERVICES icon to pull up the options page
  4. Pick your selection and click on the icon.
  5. Provide the information requested in the several following screens. When you click on "submit" the process is turned over to the administrator.
  6. Confirming email should arrive quickly.

Normally at this point everything is done and the membership is in force. In the event there is some unusual problem with the information supplied, then another email will be used to begin the correction process. Please enjoy your time with MBS

Offline using paper:

If you prefer to not use the Internet, then you may use the worldwide postal services in lieu of the ships store. This option asks you to print the application form seen below on a printer near you then write an aplication and post it back to MBS. Please do NOT send financial information by email.

Here is a brief step-by-step you will be following:

  1. Click on the "Print Form" icon below to print the Application Form on a printer near you.
  2. Use pen to provide the information requested on the form. Follow the directions on the bottom to return the form to MBS
  3. The administrator will process the application upon receipt and issue a written response. By return mail you will get confirmation including an ID and password for access to the Forum and Store on this web site.

That's all there is to it. If you later use the password restoration via email we ask that you change it as soon as you have reconnected.
